Finally Getting Started

Recently I read a blog about starting your (well mine, but you know what I mean) New Year resolutions at any time of the year. That resonated with me as I had been putting off starting this blog with an avalanche of excuses.

The intention is to write about our weekend adventures in Los Angeles and our occasional trips beyond.

Hubby and I have been searching for a potential place to take the Scottish contingent who arrive soon for Colin's high school graduation.  We found a winner!

It is amazing to me that less than half a mile from the house there are things happening that we have just no idea about.

I love mariachi music but not so much the guys standing at your table while you try to be polite and listen but really just want to bury your head in your enchiladas. And then the awkward tipping thing. This is perfect, excellent food and then an hour long mariachi show on stage.  We loved the whole night.  Treated ourselves to drinks and desert as well and the whole thing was about $100.  not bad for dinner and a show here in Los Angeles.  Loved talking with Roberto to General Manager and can't wait to go back.

OK here we go

Super novice blog

This last Sunday hubby, sis and some of our kids made an impromptu visit to Will Roger State Park to watch some
polo.

The whole experience was pretty cool.  The horses were beautiful and the speed was amazing.  We add some new words - CHUCKERS - to our vocabulary and enjoyed the beautiful, sunny, breezy day at Will Rogers State Park in Pacific Palisades, California.

Sis was a little disappointed in my picnic packing skills once she spotted the older lady on the bench close by enjoying her Bud Lite - sorry sis.  Next time I will sneak a little wine in.

Apparently there are chuckers most Saturdays and Sundays in the summer so we will be back.
